Warranty and Aftercare

Good aftercare starts the day your vehicle leaves the bay. Our support covers post-install checks, care guidance and practical next steps so your wrap, tint or PPF keeps doing its job.

What your post installation check should cover

Before a vehicle leaves Kya Sand or any of our wrap bays, we check the finish under good light, then walk through the vehicle with you where possible. This helps catch small details early, like lifted edges, trapped dust, tint haze that is still curing, or marks from handling. If your fleet is being released in stages, the same standard applies at each handover.

Keep your handover notes simple and specific. If you spot anything in the first few days, send clear photos and the reg number right away so we can assess it quickly. A quick report saves time and keeps the fix straightforward.

  • Look along all edges for lifting, especially near door handles, mirrors and fuel flaps.
  • Check for small air pockets or marks in the vinyl or film.
  • Confirm that door seals, sensors and trim pieces are sitting correctly.
  • For tint, allow for a curing period before judging final clarity.

How to care for a fresh wrap, tint or PPF

During the first 7 days, avoid high pressure washing, polishes and abrasives. If the vehicle was wrapped in cold or damp weather, give it a little extra patience because moisture can take longer to clear. In Johannesburg dust is one thing, at the coast salt and humidity are another, so regular washing matters.

Use clean water, a soft cloth and mild soap. Dry the panels by hand if possible, and dont scrub corners or seams. For tint and PPF, park in shade when you can, especially in strong sun, as heat can harden fresh adhesive too quickly.

  • Wait 48 to 72 hours before washing, unless we advise otherwise.
  • Do not use petroleum based cleaners on vinyl or interior wraps.
  • Avoid scraping ice, stickers or residue with sharp tools.
  • Rinse off bird droppings, tree sap and fuel spills as soon as possible.

What is covered and what needs a paid repair

Our warranty support is there for workmanship concerns and product related issues linked to the scope of the job. It does not cover abuse, accidents, hail, incorrect washing, stone strike on roads, or damage caused by later repairs and refits. If a panel is resprayed, removed or replaced by another workshop after our install, that changes the risk and can affect cover.

On fleet vehicles, warranty matters should be logged through one contact person so there is one clear record. That helps us assess whether the issue is isolated, or part of a wider pattern on the same batch. It also keeps downtime lower, which matters when vehicles are earning money every day.

  • Covered items are checked against the original job scope.
  • Wear from normal use is not the same as a defect.
  • Damage caused by pressure washing too close can void support.
  • Commercial abuse, collisions and poor storage are excluded.

How to report a concern without delay

If something does not look right, contact us as soon as you can on our contact form with your vehicle details, job date and a few clear photos. Take pictures in daylight if possible and include close ups plus one wider view. That gives our team enough context to decide whether it is a quick fix, a follow up check, or a booking back in at the nearest service area.

For fleets, Ayanda and the production team can track repeat issues by batch, vehicle type or branch. That means a local municipal vehicle in Pretoria can be treated differently to a long distance service van based in Durban, because the use case and wear are not the same.

  • Send the registration number and the best contact person.
  • Describe when you first noticed the issue.
  • Attach photos from more than one angle.
  • Let us know if the vehicle is driveable or booked for work.

Seasonal care for South African conditions

South African conditions change fast. Summer heat can soften some panels, winter mornings can delay curing, and coastal moisture can show up as edge lift if a vehicle is left dirty for too long. Load shedding also matters because poor lighting can make faults harder to spot, so it helps to inspect vehicles in daylight where possible.

For vehicles used in Sandton, Midrand, the East Rand or Pretoria, frequent stop start driving means more contact with dust, brake residue and tight parking spaces. Commercial fleets in Durban often deal with salt air and humidity, so we usually recommend a slightly tighter wash routine and regular checks around seams and handles.

Aftercare is not complicated. It is mostly about clean washing, sensible parking and reporting small changes early. Do that and your wrap, tint or PPF will hold up better for longer.

Keeping support simple for fleets and private vehicles

Whether you have one bakkie or a full fleet, the best warranty support is organised support. We keep records of the materials used, the installation date and the vehicle details so follow ups are easier months later. That is especially useful when vehicles are rotated between branches, drivers or depots.

If you need refits, wrap removal, panel replacements or advice after a minor scrape, speak to us before the vehicle goes elsewhere. A quick check can prevent avoidable extra work and saves you from paying twice for the same job.

Our goal is simple: keep the vehicle looking right, keep the finish protected and keep downtime to a minimum. A bit of care goes a long way.

Questions we get asked

How long should I wait before washing a newly wrapped vehicle?

Wait 48 to 72 hours before the first wash, unless we give different instructions for the specific job. Avoid high pressure washing close to the edges during the first week.

Does warranty cover stone chips or scratches after installation?

No, normal road damage, impacts, scraping and misuse are not covered. Warranty support applies to workmanship concerns and issues linked to the original installation scope.

What should I send if I notice a problem after collection?

Send your registration number, job date, a short note describing the issue and clear daylight photos. That helps us assess the matter quickly and arrange the right next step.
